Music by Tom Glenn & Lyrics by Suzanne Cloud
This tune was composed by guitarist Tom Glenn after seeing Cabinet members standing behind Trump and smiling while he said the most vile things after the Charlottesville Neo-Nazi protest. I heard it and immediately wrote lyrics to it, and it is dedicated to every soulless creature surrounding and aiding Trump.
Performed by Suzanne Cloud
(see lyrics below audio)
I’ve Got My Smile On
Can’t believe I’m still here,
Always at his service every minute of the day.
The lies that he tells.
The crap that he sells.
Each moment is hell,
But I Got My Smile On
People think he’s a fink,
And I should keep walkin’ by with heart and soul together.
But no can I do.
I’m locked into,
This nightmare zoo.
But I Got My Smile On
He sneers imbecilically through every speech that he makes to his crowd
His deplorable dopes by the stage cheer him as they slam dance – so proud.
So I’m stuck facing straight,
Loyal to a boss spouting bucketfuls of hate.
But I’m not alone,
In this combat zone.
We’re made of stone.
But We Got Our Smiles On.
(Guitar solo)
He grabs every woman he meets by the boobs and acts like a lout
Then the man shoves his tongue down her throat after popping Tic-Tacs in his mouth.
So I’m stuck facing straight,
Loyal to a boss spouting bucketfuls of hate.
But I’m not alone,
In this combat zone.
We’re made of stone.
But We Got Our Smiles On.
