What personal data do we collect and why?
Analytics
We collect only enough information to allow us to determine the general geographic location of readers and which works on our site are the most popular with readers. We do not maintain a database of IP addresses or other individualized information. Our analytics, administered by Jetpack, collect and display only anonymous geographic information conveyed in graph format.
We don’t allow comments on our site. When visitors attempt to leave comments, the comments are collected automatically by Akismet, a spam detection service. The data collected by Akismet includes the commenter’s IP address and browser user agent string; this information facilitates spam detection. The comments identified as spam are deleted. You may wish to read Akismet’s policy* below, for more information.
Our newsletter
Subscribers to our newsletter provide their email addresses, which are stored in our system for use only to provide the email updates subscribers have signed up to receive. These email updates are processed through MailChimp. We do not share our email list with any entity beyond MailChimp. By providing an email address, a subscriber consents to receive these emails. Subscribers can remove themselves from the list at any time they choose. If a reader unsubscribes, that subscriber’s information is no longer stored on our site.
